Job Requirements

  • U.S. work authorization required
  • At least one year of kitchen experience preferred but not required
  • Basic math skills including adding, subtracting, and counting change
  • Legible handwriting
  • Strong customer service and oral communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to lift, carry, and deliver boxes and items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to smoothly navigate dining room, kitchen and other facility areas
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to use slicers and heavy equipment if over 18
  • Protective clothing required such as slip resistant shoes

Job Duties

  • Know and understand every item on the menu including portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules
  • Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • Work closely with the Chef to provide absolute consistency on every plate
  • Timing is everything
  • work on timing to get every ticket out in an appropriate amount of time
  • During prime service hours, stay focused on designated tasks
  • Communicate consistently with co-workers
  • When your station is ready for service, see who else may need help with prepping and getting ready
  • Practice safe knife handling
  • if training is needed, see the Chef
  • Open/close the kitchen properly and follow the opening/closing checklist for kitchen stations
