Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one to two years of experience in food preparation
- Maintains a current Food Handlers Card
- Intermediate to advanced cooking skills
- Intermediate to advanced knife skills
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to perform in fast paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Awareness of chemical, fire safety and injury prevention

Job Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one to two years of experience in food preparation in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant concept
- Maintains a current Food Handlers Card
- Intermediate to advanced cooking skills
- Intermediate to advanced knife skills
- Flexibility to work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions
- Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of groups
- Ability to work well independently
- Ability to work well in a high stress, fast paced environment
- Understanding and compliance with food safety and temperature standards
- Knowledge of chemical and fire safety
- Awareness of injury prevention and potential workplace hazards
Job Duties
- Ensures food is prepared in accordance with OMR standards and recipes, and to each guest’s preference
- Ensures food safety and security processes and procedures are followed so that all Health Department standards are exceeded
- Follows all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds
- Preps all ingredients and products to OMR prep lists, par levels and recipe standards
- Communicates the status and availability of product to supervisors
- Maintains prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary and safe manner
- Utilizes various prep and cooking methods to create menu items
- Tests the temperatures of the food
- Minimizes waste of product
- Packages and stores leftover foods according to OMR standards
- Rotates product according to “First In, First Out” to maintain shelf-life standards
- Supports other stations as needed
- Restocks and replenishes inventory and supplies
- Cleans, organizes and maintains the walk-in refrigerator, reach-in refrigerator, cooler drawers, prep and dry storage areas
- Washes dishes and takes out the trash as needed
- Reports all equipment problems and maintenance issues to supervisors
- Follows OMR standards and completes assigned checklists and sidework throughout and at the end of the shift
- Models personal excellence and consistency in day-to-day appearance, behaviors and accomplishments
- Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers
- Arrives to work ready for their shift and does not leave until the next shift is prepared for success
- Analyzes own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and areas of development
