Job Duties
- Inspect, clean, and maintain food preparation areas ensuring safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating kitchen equipment
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality and rotating stock
- Handle, store, and rotate all food products and supplies according to restaurant policies
- Comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
- Stock and maintain sufficient food levels at line stations to support service periods
- Follow recipes and standards to portion, arrange, and garnish food properly
- Observe and test foods to determine if cooked sufficiently
- Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods
- Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
- Close the kitchen following closing checklist and assist others in closing
- Coordinate with fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support restaurant operation
- Fill-in for fellow employees to ensure guest service standards
- Perform other work-related duties including working the line, doing prep, and quality control
