Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must be able to stand for entire shift
- Ability to work in loud background noise
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds with assistance
- Ability to stoop, bend, reach, twist, crouch, squat, and lift
- Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues
- Ability to work in confined spaces and perform repetitive motions
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience as a prep cook or line cook in a casual dining restaurant preferred
- Familiar with proper cleaning procedures and safe use of chemicals
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with management and team
- Knowledge of health department codes and food safety
- Professionalism in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Job Duties
- Works on the line and in the kitchen as directed by management
- Communicates with leads and management
- Maintains a high standard of professionalism
- Preps food for service following all health department codes and practices
- Ensures every dish or menu item is up to established standards prior to leaving the kitchen
- Multitasks and works in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ensures proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items
- Assists with putting food shipments away
- Ensures efficient delivery and proper presentation of meals
- Stocks items that need replenishing
- Preps bulk items according to recipes maintaining product consistency and quality
- Ensures proper supplies are present for shifts
- Monitors and maintains equipment and notifies management of issues
- Adheres to all departmental, health, and safety standards
- Sweeps and mops floors
- Empties trash cans
- Removes and cleans mats
- Maintains cleanliness and personal hygiene
- Performs other assigned duties
