Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- must be able to stand for entire shifts
- must be comfortable working in a noisy environment
- ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance
- must be able to stoop, bend, reach, twist, crouch, squat, and lift
- must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues
- capable of working in confined spaces and performing repetitive motions
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience as a prep cook or line cook in a casual dining restaurant
- familiarity with proper cleaning procedures and chemical usage
- ability to work independently with high attention to detail
- strong multitasking and communication skills
- knowledge of health department codes and food safety practices
- commitment to professionalism and teamwork
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Works on the line and in the kitchen as directed by management
- communicates with leads and management
- maintains a high standard of professionalism
- preps food for service following all health department codes and practices
- ensures dishes or menu items meet established standards before leaving the kitchen
- multitasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- ensures proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items
- assists with putting food shipments away
- ensures efficient delivery and proper presentation of meals
- stocks daily replenishing items
- preps bulk items according to recipe with consistency and quality
- monitors and maintains equipment and supplies
- adheres to all health and safety standards
- sweeps and mops floors
- empties trash cans
- removes and cleans mats and returns to specified areas
- maintains cleanliness and personal hygiene
- performs other duties as assigned
