Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous cooking experience in a restaurant or food service environment
- knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- ability to use kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and roasters
- physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
- good communication and teamwork skills
- flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products
- prepare and portion food products prior to cooking
- plate and garnish cooked items following restaurant standards
- inspect, clean, and maintain food preparation and serving areas for sanitation
- regulate temperatures of kitchen equipment to ensure food safety
- check freshness, quality and rotate food stock
- weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- carve and trim meats for service
- assist food prep assignments during off-peak periods
- substitute for or assist other cooks during rush periods
- close kitchen stations following the closing checklist
- attend employee meetings and contribute suggestions
- coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guest needs
- fill in for fellow employees to ensure efficient operations
