Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Current Food Handler’s Permit
  • State sanitation certificate
  • 3-4 years of advanced cooking experience
  • Intermediate to advanced knife skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to follow written instructions and recipes
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including holidays
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Dependability and good organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Current Food Handler’s Permit
  • Training in ServSafe (beneficial)
  • State sanitation certificate
  • 3-4 years of related and advanced food service and cooking experience
  • Experience in basic kitchen equipment operation
  • Intermediate to advanced knife skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and safety protocols
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Patient and compassionate toward senior adults
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some holidays
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and preparation principles
  • Ability to maintain a neat and orderly workstation and comply with dress code

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook foods to order for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Operate grill station and produce small to large batch goods using classical cooking techniques
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistent quality and proper quantities
  • Maintain high sanitation and safety standards complying with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Handle inventory reception, storage, and appropriate labeling
  • Prepare meals for residents with special dietary needs
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and food areas
  • Participate in safety training and adhere to risk management policies
  • Plate and garnish food items with attention to appearance
  • Record and manage food temperatures and correct discrepancies as needed
