- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong multitasking and time management skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen tasks
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment
Job Duties
- Prepare all items according to recipe cards and directions provided by chefs
- Plate dishes in alignment with hotel use records to ensure consistency and meet guest expectations
- Conduct sensory evaluations of all products before service
- Maintain cleanliness of the service line and related areas by following the clean as you go policy
- Ensure the workstation is efficiently set up before meal functions
- Store and handle food items properly to minimize waste
- Monitor and maintain safe temperatures for hot holding and cold holding of food items
- Foster positive working relationships with team members
- Support kitchen operations effectively by performing tasks assigned by lead cooks and supervisors
