Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit
- State sanitation certificate
- 3-4 years of advanced food preparation experience
- Proficient knife skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow recipes and safety protocols independently
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours including holidays
- Ability to maintain a neat and orderly work environment
- Patience and compassion towards senior adults
- Basic computer literacy
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety regulations
Job Qualifications

- Current Food Handler’s Permit
- Training in Servsafe is beneficial
- State sanitation certificate
- 3-4 years of related and advanced food service and cooking experience preferred
- Experience operating basic kitchen equipment preferred
- Intermediate to advanced knife skills
- Effective communication skills in verbal and written English
- Ability to follow written instructions and recipes without supervision
- Basic computer skills
- Dependable, detail oriented, and organized
- Ability to work within standard policies and procedures with limited supervision
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Compassionate and patient with senior adults
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and preparation principles
- Ability to work well with diverse groups including residents, staff, and visitors

- Adherence to appearance and dress code standards
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook to order foods requiring short to mid-level preparation time
- Operate grill stations and prepare a la carte food items
- Follow standardized recipes and product directions for food preparation
- Use various kitchen equipment for measuring, mixing, peeling, cutting, and trimming ingredients
- Taste products, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records
- Maintain high sanitation standards and follow all food safety regulations
- Clean and sanitize workstations and kitchen equipment
- Assist with setup and breakdown of serving lines
- Receive and properly store inventory with accurate labeling and dating
- Take and record temperatures and correct discrepancies
- Prepare meals for customers requiring special diets
- Plate food with attention to appearance and garnish
- Participate in safety training and adhere to company safety policies
- Manage time efficiently and maintain an organized work area
- Demonstrate patience and compassion when interacting with senior residents
- Work flexible hours including some holidays
- Follow dress code and kitchen uniform requirements
- Handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
