Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 2 to 3 years experience in restaurant and or hospitality industry
- Serve Safe Certification
- Must be able to perform a wide range of cooking methods using various techniques
- Good knife skills and knowledge of professional cutlery
- Strong sanitation and hygiene standards
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compliance with OSHA safety regulations and local laws
- Ability to communicate effectively in English when working in resident areas
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 2 -3 years experience in restaurant and or hospitality industry
- Serve Safe Certification
- Sanitation or HACCP Certification nice to have
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Must possess the ability to communicate and deal tactfully with team members, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Works professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- When working in resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy, and staff meetings as directed
- Complies with protection of health information HIPAA safeguards
Job Duties
- Prioritizes tasks and manage time
- Understands and implements the safe operation and maintenance of professional cooking equipment
- Ability to perform a wide range of cooking methods using various techniques to comply with diverse and consistently changing menus
- Possess good knife skills as well as knowledge of professional cutlery
- Possess strong sanitation and hygiene standards
- Willingness to help others when needed, always display a team player attitude
- Reviews menus and recipes prior to preparation of food
- Inspects special diet orders to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident
- Performs administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc. and submit to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
- Coordinates dining service with other departments as necessary
