Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary experience or degree preferred
  • 2-3 years experience in restaurant or hospitality industry
  • Serve Safe Certification required
  • Ability to perform multitasking and time management
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of cooking techniques
  • Good sanitation and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Must meet general health requirements
  • Ability to comply with OSHA regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years experience in restaurant and/or hospitality industry
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Knowledge of sanitation and HACCP standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Strong customer support and confidentiality skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to work professionally with diverse populations
  • Participation in staff training and educational programs
  • Understanding of HIPAA safeguards and compliance

Job Duties

  • Prioritizes tasks and manage time
  • Understands and implements the safe operation and maintenance of professional cooking equipment
  • Performs a wide range of cooking methods using various techniques to comply with diverse and changing menus
  • Possess good knife skills as well as knowledge of professional cutlery
  • Maintain strong sanitation and hygiene standards
  • Willingness to help others and display a team player attitude
  • Reviews menus and recipes prior to food preparation
  • Inspect special diet orders to assure correct diet is served
  • Completes administrative paperwork and submits to Executive Chef or Sous Chef
  • Coordinates dining service with other departments
  • Ensures dining procedures comply with North Hill policies
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability of Line Cook role
  • Assists in establishing food service production line for timely meal preparation
  • Processes diet changes and new diets as instructed
  • Prepares food according to sanitary regulations and internal policies
  • Ensures safety regulations are followed at all times
  • Follows infection control and universal precautions
  • Completes daily or scheduled cleaning duties
  • Maintains clean and safe department environment
  • Reports hazardous conditions or equipment immediately
  • Provides thoughtful and engaging customer service
  • Communicates challenges or complaints to supervisor
  • Meets department uniform, appearance, and grooming standards
  • Complies with OSHA and local laws regarding health, safety, and environment
