Job Requirements
- Two years of high-volume diner or restaurant experience
- high school graduate
- ability to work rotating shifts including every other weekend and holidays
- food handling certification preferred
- ability to operate commercial food production equipment
- ability to lift and stand for extended periods
- adherence to food safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Two years of high-volume diner or restaurant experience
- culinary degree preferred
- one year of high-volume a la carte experience preferred
- food handling certification from Health Department City of Chicago preferred
- high school graduate
Job Duties
- Prepare room service menu items according to approved recipes and presentation standards
- utilize a la carte cooking methods including sautéing, grilling, broiling, frying and plating
- operate food production equipment such as tilt fryer, turbo chef ovens, floor mixer, pressure steamer, combi oven, convection oven, burner range, proof box, blast chiller, grill, and griddle
- adhere to diet and allergy restrictions while preparing meals
- maintain proper portion control and ensure food quality and temperature
- clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas according to standards
- assist in orientation of new employees and participate in department meetings and trainings
