Job Requirements

  • must be at least eighteen years of age
  • ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • criminal background cleared
  • physically able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods
  • ability to frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds
  • comfortable working near extreme temperatures including hot cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • availability to work indoors primarily and outdoors for events
  • current Food Handlers Card as required by the Department of Health

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • current Food Handlers Card
  • demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision
  • proficient written and oral communication skills
  • ability to work in team settings
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • prior culinary or cooking experience preferred

Job Duties

  • prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
  • ensure exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely manner
  • follow health protocols including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures
  • familiarize with residents and their food preferences and needs
  • participate in resident orientations
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
  • collaborate effectively with management and support staff
