Job Requirements

  • Be at least eighteen years of age
  • possess a current Food Handlers Card
  • demonstrate leadership, training, and supervision competency
  • proficient in written and oral communication
  • physically active and able to stand, walk, bend, kneel and stoop all day
  • able to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
  • comfortable working near extreme temperatures
  • able to work indoors and outdoors
  • criminal background clearance
  • able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health
  • demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision
  • proficient written and oral communication skills
  • ability to understand and communicate in English
  • experience in food preparation or culinary services
  • knowledge of health and safety standards
  • ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
  • provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion
  • ensure health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures
  • familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs
  • participate in resident orientations
  • work primarily indoors but be available for outdoor events
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas
