Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- Active Food Handlers Card
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working near extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and freezers
- Ability to work indoors primarily but available for outdoor events
- Must be criminally cleared
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possession of current Food Handlers Card as required by the Department of Health
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience in food preparation and safe food handling practices
- Familiarity with dietary needs of senior residents
Job Duties
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
- Provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion
- Ensure health protocols are always followed including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures
- Familiarize with residents and their preferences and needs
- Participate in resident orientations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food preparation areas
- Assist in inventory management and food storage procedures
