Job Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • possess a current Food Handlers Card
  • demonstrate skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision
  • have proficient communication skills
  • physically capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day
  • ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • comfortable working in close proximity to extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • ability to work primarily indoors and also available for outdoor events
  • must be criminally cleared

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid Food Handlers Card as required by the Department of Health
  • demonstrated skills and competency in culinary preparation and kitchen safety
  • strong leadership, training, and supervisory abilities
  • proficient written and oral communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • previous experience in food service or culinary roles preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes to provide exceptional quality food
  • ensure health protocols including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures are consistently followed
  • familiarize yourself with residents and their preferences and needs
  • participate in resident orientations to enhance connection and service
  • maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen and dining areas
  • communicate effectively with management and team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • assist with inventory and food storage management
