Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- possess a current Food Handlers Card
- demonstrate skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision
- have proficient communication skills
- physically capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day
- ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- comfortable working in close proximity to extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- ability to work primarily indoors and also available for outdoor events
- must be criminally cleared
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid Food Handlers Card as required by the Department of Health
- demonstrated skills and competency in culinary preparation and kitchen safety
- strong leadership, training, and supervisory abilities
- proficient written and oral communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- previous experience in food service or culinary roles preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes to provide exceptional quality food
- ensure health protocols including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures are consistently followed
- familiarize yourself with residents and their preferences and needs
- participate in resident orientations to enhance connection and service
- maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen and dining areas
- communicate effectively with management and team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- assist with inventory and food storage management
