Job Requirements
- Experience working in a kitchen for at least one year
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Capability to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including event days
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Adherence to company uniform and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- One plus year of experience working in a kitchen, catering experience preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- ServSafe certified or available to receive training
- Capable of producing consistent products in a timely manner
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Understanding of food safety practices including TCS, temperature logs, and cleaning/sanitizing
- Planning and multi-tasking skills
- Self-motivated with a high energy level
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Availability to work all home Comerica Center events
Job Duties
- Setting up and sanitizing workstations
- Following prep lists created by lead culinary
- Measuring ingredients and seasonings
- Preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock to be used in cooking
- Preparing simple dishes as directed by the Executive Chef
- Ensuring all food items are properly stored and accessible
- Assisting chefs and attending to culinary tasks
- Supervising food and cooling room temperatures
- Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers
- Maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen
- Maintaining the highest level of food quality
- Ensuring safety and sanitation of kitchen and food service areas
- Running food on game-days
- Performing other related duties as required
