Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years culinary experience
  • Valid food handlers certification, if applicable
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours
  • Capability to lift and carry food items up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to push and pull equipment weighing up to 250 lbs occasionally
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain neat grooming according to company standards
  • Regular attendance and compliance with company policies
  • Ability to work flexible schedules as required
  • Manual dexterity to operate kitchen and office equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years of culinary experience
  • State required food handlers certification if applicable
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to supervise kitchen staff and manage goals efficiently
  • Knowledge of menu development, marketing, cost and wage control
  • Artistic ability for creating thematic menus and presentations
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and visualizing recipes and support materials

Job Duties

  • Read menu to estimate food requirements and assist Executive Chef with ordering or procuring food
  • Adjust thermostat controls for ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
  • Prepare food items using predetermined methods in a timely and consistent manner
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Set up station with mise en place for all service functions
  • Practice sanitation and safety daily to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Consult with Executive Chef and related departments regularly
  • Participate and recommend improvements for hotel programs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by managers and supervisors
