Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience as a chef or line cook in a restaurant
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Compliance with drug-free workplace policies
  • Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role

Job Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in a restaurant as a chef/line cook
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to handle physically demanding work and long periods of standing
  • Flexibility to travel up to 100% of the time

Job Duties

  • Prepare full-course meals for Amtrak passengers
  • Assist with all phases of meal preparations
  • Wash all items used in the preparation of meals in compliance with FDA sanitation regulations and standards
  • Complete all end-point duties
  • Assist with loading and unloading of food and service products
  • Plate food items according to current menu standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining car lower level
