Job Requirements

  • Must have at least 6 months experience in a fast-paced restaurant with a high volume
  • Must be able to meet all scheduling commitments
  • Able to anticipate needs of others in the kitchen and proactively work to meet those needs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and push or lift 20 pounds or more
  • Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work in Miami, FL
  • Must be able to work day and night shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Cooking experience or back of the house experience preferred
  • Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic team player with excellent motivation and people skills
  • Familiar with industry best practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to take a food safety class or have a current food handlers certificate

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Chop vegetables, prepare sauces and other food preparation
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory
  • Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces
  • Follow recipe and presentation guidelines
  • Ensure all sanitation and safety guidelines are always followed
  • Coordinate food orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Use standard recipe cards for all products
  • Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs
  • Substitute for other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
  • Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality and rotating stock
  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas
  • Maintain a clean work environment by complying with food sanitation requirements
