Job Requirements

  • previous experience as a line cook or similar kitchen role
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • capability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
  • strong teamwork and communication skills
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role in a restaurant or cafe setting
  • knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality dishes
  • excellent organizational and time management skills
  • ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with coworkers and management
  • flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • certification in food safety and sanitation is preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • prepare and cook menu items according to bongo java's recipes and specifications
  • set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
  • ensure that food is cooked and plated to perfection, following proper portion sizes and presentation guidelines
  • coordinate food preparation and cooking times with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
  • monitor food inventory levels and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the kitchen manager
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items, regular cleaning of equipment, and adherence to food safety protocols
  • follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including proper handling and storage of perishable items, temperature control, and sanitation procedures
