- knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality dishes
- excellent organizational and time management skills
- ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with coworkers and management
- flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- certification in food safety and sanitation is preferred but not required
Job Duties
- prepare and cook menu items according to bongo java's recipes and specifications
- set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
- ensure that food is cooked and plated to perfection, following proper portion sizes and presentation guidelines
- coordinate food preparation and cooking times with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
- monitor food inventory levels and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the kitchen manager
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items, regular cleaning of equipment, and adherence to food safety protocols
- follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including proper handling and storage of perishable items, temperature control, and sanitation procedures
