- Experience in luxury hotel or resort kitchens
- physical stamina and endurance for long shifts
- ability to work under pressure in a high-volume kitchen
- ability to lift and handle up to 50 pounds
- availability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- capability to collaborate effectively with team members
Job Qualifications
- Two years of experience in a luxury hotel and/or resort
- endurance to stand for long periods and walk moderate distances
- ability to work in fast-paced and hot kitchen environments
- capability to lift, push, and pull a moderate amount of weight (up to 50lbs)
- flexible to work in different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- ability to work independently and in a team environment
Job Duties
- Maintain clean and organized work stations
- follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- assist with receiving and storing deliveries
- help with inventory management and rotation
- prepare ingredients for cooking according to established recipes and standards
- perform basic cooking tasks under the guidance of senior kitchen staff
- assist with preparing sauces, stocks, and other foundational items
- portion and store food items properly
- ensure all prepared items meet quality expectations
- report any issues with ingredients or equipment
- follow recipes and presentation guidelines accurately
- assist other kitchen staff during service as needed
- participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance
- attend staff meetings and training sessions
- maintain impeccable grooming standards, wearing the assigned uniform exactly as specified
- wear the official hotel lapel pin prominently as part of the uniform requirement, unless embroidered onto uniform
- perform all other duties that may be assigned as needed by your manager
