Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Food Handler license
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds on a continuous schedule
  • Availability to work regular shifts and comply with attendance rules
  • Ability to operate and clean commercial kitchen equipment safely
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and assist co-workers

Job Duties

  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards per check from servers
  • Start food items that are prepared ahead of time without over preparing estimated needs
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards ensuring all perishables are kept at proper temperatures
  • Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up and note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
  • Return unused food items to designated storage areas covering and dating all perishables
  • Assist in setting up plans to correct food cost problems and control food waste, loss, and usage
  • Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment such as deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
