Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and portion controls
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Physical capability to lift 100 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in food prep areas
- Basic communication skills in English

Job Duties
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards per check from servers
- Start food items that are prepared ahead of time without over preparing estimated needs
- Date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards while ensuring perishables are kept at proper temperatures
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up
- Note any out-of-stock items or shortages and assist in keeping buffet stocked
- Return all unused food items to designated storage areas, covering and dating perishables
- Assist in developing plans to correct food cost problems, controlling food waste, loss, and usage
- Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
