Job Requirements
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or move goods on hand cart or truck weighing up to 100 lbs
- Manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment including knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, and slicers
- Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions
- Ability to perform duties in confined spaces
- Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling
- Must be able to work varying shifts including nights and weekends
- Commitment to maintaining safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to follow safety and emergency procedures
- Must maintain a neat and clean personal appearance
Job Qualifications
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- Preferred 3 years cooking experience with emphasis on broiler cooking
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
- Good working knowledge of broiler cooking fundamentals
- Good working knowledge of sauté cooking fundamentals
- Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
- Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
- Basic mathematical skills to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes
- Basic English language skills to understand inquiries and communicate instructions
- Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
- Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers
Job Duties
- Prepares daily preparation lists for production
- Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
- Prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications
- Visually inspects, selects, and uses only food items of the highest standard
- Checks and controls proper storage of product with focus on portion control
- Maintains refrigeration, equipment, and work areas in clean and compliant condition
- Maintains all logs for cooling, heating, and temperature
- Adheres to company policies and safety and security procedures
- Reports unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, and property damage
- Provides a safe work environment by following safety procedures
- Maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- Performs related duties as requested by management
- Assists other kitchen personnel when needed
