Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged
  • culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship
  • one or more years of experience in a fast-paced cook-to-order kitchen
  • one or more years of scratch cooking experience
  • experience with sauté and broiler cooking
  • ability to read, write and understand the english language
  • manual dexterity to use kitchen tools and equipment
  • physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work in varying temperature conditions

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or ged
  • culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
  • experience cooking in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen preferred
  • experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • ability to read, write, and understand english
  • strong manual dexterity to handle kitchen equipment
  • physical stamina to work without sitting for extended periods

Job Duties

  • prepare high-quality food items such as meats, vegetables, potatoes, breads, and desserts
  • maintain control of food quality and quantity at the station
  • model professional, friendly, courteous, and timely service
  • adhere to community standards, processes, and procedures
  • assist with kitchen operations under executive chef guidance
  • ensure cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
  • communicate effectively with residents, guests, and staff
