Job Requirements
- Prior experience in one or more of the following roles is highly desirable: line cook, prep cook, grill cook, fry cook, chef, restaurant crew member, restaurant team member or other part time BOH restaurant job
- Proven cooking experience
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
Job Duties
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Assist kitchen manager with daily tasks
- Prepare food to the exact specifications and to set up stations for menu
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, prepping meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow the managers instructions
- Clean up station and kitchen equipment
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
