Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a professional kitchen preferred
  • understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
  • good communication skills
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting heavy items and standing for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food service regulations
  • skillfully uses hand tools or machines needed for the position
  • able to work in fast paced environment
  • able to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy
  • able to stand for extended periods of time

Job Duties

  • Efficiently prepares food items as ordered
  • exercises food safety and kitchen sanitation practices to deliver a quality product
  • weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes
  • properly prepares meat, fish, vegetables, and other foods
  • reviews daily assignments with supervisor
  • plans for anticipated demand throughout shift
  • maintains cleanliness and working order of work area, tools, equipment, and supplies
  • prepares and maintains the line and par levels as required by the current menu
  • keeps walk in cooler/freezer organized
  • may assist with inventory, temp logs and waste logs
