Job Requirements
- Must have at least one year of professional kitchen experience or start at entry-level with career growth potential
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to walk, bend, twist, reach, and handle food products frequently
- Flexible working hours including weekends and holidays
- Must complete or possess ServSafe training and certification
- Ability to follow all safety and hygiene standards
- Must work effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Good communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of professional kitchen experience preferred
- Culinary training preferred
- Experience with dishwashing, prep, cooking, and expediting
- ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to complete training
- Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution
- Knowledge of U.S. measurements, weights, and volumes
- Ability to follow safe use instructions for chemicals and cleaning materials
- Effective communication skills in high-volume settings
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Time management skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations positively
- Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through point of sale system
- Make items only as ordered and act with integrity
- Accommodate special requests with management approval to enhance guest experience
- Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure food is served timely and at high quality
- Remake items as instructed by supervisor or manager
- Adhere to food safety guidelines including maintaining temperatures, proper labeling, and avoiding cross contamination
- Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work areas during and at end of shift
- Stock kitchen areas with dry products and prep materials and restock consistently
- Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and reduce waste
- Maintain accurate waste logs for discarded items
- Keep supervisors and kitchen manager updated on inventory levels
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Work safely using protective gear and proper lifting techniques
- Lock and secure food and equipment
- Follow all opening, mid, and closing procedures
- Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
