Job Requirements

  • must be able to stand walk and stay on his or her feet for prolonged periods of time up to four hours without a break period to sit down
  • able to lift up to 75 pounds at a given time
  • able to perform repetitive tasks of line cooking which require repetitive motion with spatula knife hand-motion for mixing on an ongoing basis
  • punctual to begin work
  • adherence to dress code including Batch & Brine tee-shirt cap or bandana non-tattered jeans slip-proof restaurant shoes
  • maintain neat and clean appearance with well-trimmed facial hair clean and trimmed nails no excessive jewelry
  • follow all recipes preparations and portions according to Batch & Brine standards
  • tag prepped items with dates to indicate freshness
  • shelf prepped items according to health standards
  • fully stock stations at beginning of shift
  • follow food safety and sanitation procedures to avoid cross contamination
  • cook hot food items at proper temperatures following cooking procedures
  • prepare cold and hot food items at proper temperatures
  • cook meats according to proper temperatures
  • wash hands after handling raw meats use hand towels to dry hands instead of aprons
  • keep cutting knives and utensils clean
  • keep prep stations clean free of debris and spillage
  • keep floors clean
  • maintain freezers and refrigerators at proper temperatures
  • keep dry storage area neat and orderly
  • weigh portion control items according to recipe book
  • conduct temperature checks every two hours and log properly
  • make freezer pulls as directed or needed
  • ensure proper food product rotations
  • report shortages of food supplies immediately
  • use safety procedures at all times
  • take breaks on time and return promptly
  • willing to work overtime if needed
  • complete assigned tasks willingly as designated by management

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in a commercial kitchen or food preparation environment preferred
  • knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures
  • ability to follow detailed recipes and cooking procedures accurately
  • strong physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • attention to detail and commitment to quality and cleanliness

Job Duties

  • ensure that all cooking procedures and recipes are followed according to Batch & Brine standards
  • maintain proper food preparation temperatures for both hot and cold items
  • label and date all prepped items to ensure freshness
  • organize and keep prep stations clean and well-stocked
  • perform regular temperature checks and log results every two hours
  • follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols including hand washing and utensil cleaning
  • report food supply shortages and assist with inventory management as directed
