Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler's Permit
- State sanitation certificate
- 3-4 years of advanced food service and cooking experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Capability to follow recipes and safety procedures unsupervised
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods up to 8 hours
- Flexibility to work holidays and varying shifts
- Dependability and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work in a team and social environment
- Adherence to company safety and risk management policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler's Permit
- Training in ServSafe beneficial
- State sanitation certificate
- 3-4 years of related and advanced food service and cooking experience
- Experience operating kitchen equipment preferred
- Intermediate to advanced knife skills
- Knowledge of kitchen environment and food preparation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to read and follow recipes unsupervised
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
- Patience and compassion for senior adults
- Ability to adhere to dress code and maintain personal hygiene
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles
- Ability to work with diverse groups including residents and staff
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items to order using classical cooking techniques
- Serve food at a la carte stations and operate grill stations
- Follow federal, state, and corporate food safety standards and regulations
- Read and follow recipes and product directions independently
- Assist with inventory receiving, storage, and labeling
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Attend safety and foodborne illness training and apply principles in daily work
