Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
- at least 6 months of experience in a similar capacity
- ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and confidently with team members
- availability to work days, nights, and weekends with full flexibility
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- ability to continuously work in a standing position
- completion of Dust Bowl’s paid Food Safety Certificate training
- completion of Dust Bowl’s paid Harassment Prevention and Workplace Violence Prevention safety training
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and confidently with managers, kitchen, taproom personnel, and staff
- ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
- at least 6 months of experience in a similar capacity
- culinary certificate preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
- assume full responsibility for the quality of products served
- consistently comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
- stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service periods
- portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- maintain a clean and sanitary workstation including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment
- prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sauté, or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and/or marinating
- follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
- handle, store, and rotate all products safely and properly
- assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods and maintain productivity
- properly close the kitchen and complete closing checklists for kitchen stations
- attend scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement
- perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Managers on duty
