Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service or related field preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Must obtain a Food Handler Permit within 10 days of employment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Prior cooking experience is helpful but not necessary
  • Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong organization and active listening skills
  • The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Possess a Food Handler Permit or obtain one within 10 days of employment (paid for by 287 Taco Shop)

Job Duties

  • Stock, set up and clean the kitchen stations
  • Prepare ingredients for the daily shift
  • Cook and plate prepared foods based on company recipes and standards
  • Work with cashiers to ensure that orders are completed according to requests and on time
  • Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
  • Clean dishes, utensils and equipment throughout the shift
