Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of restaurant experience
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work Sunday through Tuesday and other shifts
- Physical ability to lift and perform kitchen duties
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of and ability to prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals
- Knowledge of proper nutrition, sanitation and safety laws and standards
- Ability to stand and walk continuously
- Ability to bend, climb stairs and lift frequently
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to squat occasionally
Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens, broilers, and grills
- Check for freshness of food and ingredients, rotate stock
- Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
- Season and cook food according to recipes or experience
- Bake, roast, broil, fry, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food, provide food to servers, bartenders or patrons
- Observe and test foods using tasting, smelling or piercing with utensils
- Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
- Substitute or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
- Keep records and accounts
