Job Requirements
- Previous culinary experience preferred
- Food Handler's Certificate required
- Proficient in English communication
- Strong knife skills
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Able to follow safety and sanitation protocols
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- Able to communicate with others to convey information effectively in English
- Comprehend basic culinary terms and techniques of prepping and cooking
- Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
- Excellent time management skills
- Must possess knife skills and the ability to adjust preparations for flavor and accommodate customers' needs promptly
- Able to cook proteins to pre-determined temperatures
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
Job Duties
- Produce meals according to established standards and members' desires
- Set up the kitchen with the necessary tools and equipment
- Prepare and present food appealingly for both plated and buffet meals
- Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and prep area
- Responsible for adherence to standards for sanitation and safe food handling by the health department and OSHA
- Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned by the head chef or management
