Job Requirements

  • Previous culinary experience preferred
  • Food Handler's Certificate required
  • Proficient in English communication
  • Strong knife skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Able to follow safety and sanitation protocols
  • Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
  • ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
  • Able to communicate with others to convey information effectively in English
  • Comprehend basic culinary terms and techniques of prepping and cooking
  • Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must possess knife skills and the ability to adjust preparations for flavor and accommodate customers' needs promptly
  • Able to cook proteins to pre-determined temperatures
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds

Job Duties

  • Produce meals according to established standards and members' desires
  • Set up the kitchen with the necessary tools and equipment
  • Prepare and present food appealingly for both plated and buffet meals
  • Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and prep area
  • Responsible for adherence to standards for sanitation and safe food handling by the health department and OSHA
  • Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the head chef or management
