Job Requirements

  • Valid form of identification
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of related high-volume cooking experience
  • ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • ability to calculate figures such as discounts and tips
  • ability to apply mathematical concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand, walk, reach, handle and manipulate objects
  • physical ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to maintain balance and climb stairs
  • ability to visually focus and perceive depth
  • emotional intelligence to remain calm and effective under stress

Job Qualifications

  • basic understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards

  • excellent customer service skills with a polite and attentive demeanor
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • may require a food handler's certification, depending on local regulations
  • basic knowledge of English highly preferred
  • ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written company directives
  • knowledge and understanding of government policies and regulations
  • ability to effectively communicate with managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock workstation with minimal supervision
  • executing menu items from start to finish, including preparation of ingredients, butchery of proteins, cooking and plating
  • working with seasonal ingredients
  • participating in the preparation and development of new menu items
  • perfecting existing skills while learning new techniques and building new skill set
  • master more than one specific station such as grill, sautee, fryer or garde manger
  • maintaining cleanliness of BOH work areas including refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
  • participate in regular and deep cleaning of BOH work areas
