Job Requirements

  • Previous restaurant experience desired
  • Completion of a four-day training program including reading, observation, assisting, testing, hands-on practice, and evaluation
  • Passing of final testing and management evaluation prior to assuming job responsibilities
  • Ability to clearly communicate with service staff and managers
  • Ability to read tickets and modifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook soups, meats, seafood, sauces, vegetables, and desserts according to recipes
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas for safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Test foods using smelling or thermometers to ensure proper cooking
  • Portion, arrange, garnish, and serve food to servers
  • Regulate temperature of cooking equipment such as ovens and grills
  • Substitute or assist other cooks during peak business periods
  • Maintain a clean working space and follow daily cleaning calendar tasks
