Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience in healthcare or senior living preferred
- Ability to work Monday through Saturday 11AM to 8PM and Sundays 6AM to 3PM with rotating weekends
- Must successfully complete background screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen tasks
- Reliable transportation to Monarch Landing in Naperville, IL
- Flexible and cooperative team player
Job Qualifications
- Proven cooking experience preferably in healthcare, skilled nursing, or senior living settings
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Food handling certification is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
- Cook menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff
- Ensure food is prepared and presented in high quality
- Coordinate cooking times to ensure meals are served simultaneously
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas
- Follow food safety and health regulations
- Assist with inventory and stock management
