Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years cooking experience preferred
  • Broiler cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature ranges and confined spaces
  • Manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment
  • Ability to follow safety and security procedures
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Must maintain a neat and professional appearance consistent with company standards

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Have good working knowledge of broiler cooking fundamentals
  • Have good working knowledge of sauté cooking fundamentals
  • Understand accepted standards of sanitation
  • Know how to operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, and steamers
  • Possess basic mathematical skills to understand recipes, measurements, requisitions and portion sizes
  • Have basic knowledge of English sufficient to understand inquiries and communicate simple instructions
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • Prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications
  • Visually inspects, selects, and uses only the highest standard food items
  • Checks and controls proper storage and portion control especially for specific meat cuts
  • Maintains refrigeration, equipment, storage, and work areas in clean and working order
  • Maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures
  • Follows safety and security procedures and knows fire prevention and emergency protocols
  • Utilizes protective equipment and reports unsafe conditions and accidents to management
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • Assists other kitchen personnel as needed and performs related duties as requested by management
