Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of quantity cooking experience
  • Valid Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Certification per state requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Meet all local and facility health requirements
  • Pass post-employment physical exam, drug screening, background check, and reference verification as required
  • Comply with all company safety, employee, and patient safety policies, including zero tolerance for harassment or violence

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items in a sanitary, timely, and efficient manner
  • Follow menus, recipes, portion control, and presentation standards
  • Set up, maintain, and break down assigned workstations
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ensure tray accuracy for menu items and diet preferences
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, dishes, and utensils
  • Restock supplies and assist with inventory and storage of food items
  • Adhere to all sanitation, safety, infection control, and facility policies
  • Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, accidents, or incidents
  • Work effectively in a non-temperature-regulated kitchen environment
  • Assist with menu planning
  • Record food temperatures
  • Prepare required reports
  • Assist during emergency or evacuation situations as needed
