- previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods
- finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery
- ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
- ability to follow detailed instructions and safety standards
- availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- compliance with attendance policy

Job Duties
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards per check from servers
- start food items prepared ahead of time without over preparation
- date all food containers and rotate per HEI Hotels and Resorts standards ensuring proper temperature of perishables
- check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line setup
- assist in keeping buffet stocked and note any out-of-stock items or shortages
- return unused food items to designated storage areas covering and dating perishables
- assist in planning actions to correct food cost problems and control food waste and loss
- operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
- comply with attendance rules and be regularly available
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
