Job Requirements

  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or move goods weighing up to 100 lbs
  • sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment including knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers
  • ability to perform duties in extreme temperature ranges
  • ability to work in confined spaces
  • frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling
  • team member must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as per handbook standards

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • 3 years cooking experience preferred, broiler cooking preferred
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • good working knowledge of broiler cooking fundamentals
  • good working knowledge of sauté cooking fundamentals
  • good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
  • knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles
  • basic mathematical skills to understand recipes, measurements, requisitions, and portion sizes
  • basic knowledge of English sufficient to understand inquiries and communicate instructions
  • ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications
  • visually inspects and selects high-quality food items
  • controls proper storage and portion sizes especially of meat cuts
  • maintains cleanliness and compliance with health department regulations
  • maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adheres to company policies and safety procedures
  • follows fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilizes protective equipment
  • reports unsafe conditions and accidents to management
  • provides a safe work environment
  • maintains neat and well-groomed appearance
  • performs related duties as requested by management
  • assists other kitchen personnel when needed
