Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation or line cooking
  • valid Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • ability to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to follow health and safety standards
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • physical ability to stand for long periods
  • willingness to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests
  • must be able to obtain Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire
  • must be able to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days of hire
  • very strong organizational skills
  • ability to maintain professionalism at all times even under high volume and stressful situations
  • ability to be a strong team player and get along well with co-workers
  • prior experience in a fast-paced restaurant in similar duties

Job Duties

  • Complete opening and closing checklists
  • refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
  • use Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products
  • prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
  • understand and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • handle, store and rotate all products properly according to health and safety standards
  • maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
  • cook all food product to temperature as needed for guests
  • clean and properly wash all used dishes following the clean as you go standards
  • close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • assist others in closing the kitchen
  • perform other related duties as assigned by manager on duty
