Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food preparation or line cooking
- valid Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- ability to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- strong communication skills
- ability to follow health and safety standards
- reliable and punctual
- ability to work as part of a team
- physical ability to stand for long periods
- willingness to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests
- must be able to obtain Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire
- must be able to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days of hire
- very strong organizational skills
- ability to maintain professionalism at all times even under high volume and stressful situations
- ability to be a strong team player and get along well with co-workers
- prior experience in a fast-paced restaurant in similar duties
Job Duties
- Complete opening and closing checklists
- refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
- use Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products
- prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
- understand and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- handle, store and rotate all products properly according to health and safety standards
- maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
- cook all food product to temperature as needed for guests
- clean and properly wash all used dishes following the clean as you go standards
- close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
- assist others in closing the kitchen
- perform other related duties as assigned by manager on duty
