Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a restaurant
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate clearly

  • Ability to use knives and kitchen machinery safely and effectively
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs or more

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a restaurant
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Duties

  • Assist the executive chef, sous chefs, supervisors with any recipes for each day
  • Understand the recipes for the restaurant and be able to prepare dishes to standard on a consistent basis
  • Maintain a clean environment including equipment, floors, walls, coolers, and freezers
  • Dishwashing as all team members wash dishes
  • Return pots and pans to the dish area for cleaning
  • Maintain a professional, presentable uniform and personal grooming
  • Effectively communicate with the team daily
  • Follow Safe-Staff sanitary compliance in the kitchen
  • Basic vegetable prep including peeling, slicing, dicing, and portioning
  • Basic sauce prep such as stocks, salad dressings, and vinaigrettes
  • Perform short order cooking under supervision
  • Plate dishes according to chef's specifications
  • Understand kitchen orders
  • Work efficiently
  • Perform all kitchen functions
  • Work under pressure
  • Work long hours standing over hot stoves and fryers
  • Work as a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and recipes
  • Prepare food to Oxbow's quality standards
  • Follow knife and safety procedures
  • Restock clean dishes, flatware, and cooking equipment
  • Maintain kitchen work area orderly and clean
  • Follow proper hand washing procedures
  • Stock kitchen supplies
  • Sort and remove trash and clean garbage cans daily
  • Maintain trash area for pickup
  • Assist with loading and unloading food deliveries
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
