Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid form of identification
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Knowledge to calculate figures such as discounts and tips
  • Ability to apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Basic knowledge of English preferred
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow both verbal and written company directives and initiatives
  • Demonstrate knowledge of government policies and regulations
  • Ability to effectively answer questions and speak before groups
  • Use common sense to understand and carry out instructions
  • Ability to creatively solve problems using experience and outside-the-box mindset
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, handle tools, talk, hear, taste and smell
  • Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally sit, climb stairs and/or maintain balance
  • Must have close, distance, and peripheral vision with depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Have sufficient physical mobility and agility to respond quickly to emergencies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of related high-volume cooking experience
  • Basic understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May require food handler's certification depending on local regulations

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock workstation with minimal supervision
  • Executing menu items from start to finish including preparation of ingredients, butchery of proteins, cooking and plating
  • Working with seasonal ingredients
  • Participating in the preparation and development of new menu items
  • Perfecting existing skills while learning new techniques and building new skill sets
  • Master more than one specific station such as grill, sauté, fryer or garde manger
  • Maintaining cleanliness of BOH work areas including refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
  • Participate in regular and deep cleaning of BOH work areas
