Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years of culinary experience in a similar environment
  • ability to work long hours up to 14 hours per day
  • must be able to work 7 days per week while onboard
  • able to handle physically demanding kitchen work
  • must pass pre-employment drug test
  • able to pass a criminal background check
  • possession of a valid transportation worker identification credential (TWIC)
  • excellent communication skills
  • able to work under pressure
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Job Qualifications

  • ability to work around 14 hours per day
  • minimum 2 years of culinary experience in full-service resort, hotel, country club or full-service restaurant
  • must have experience cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • familiar with food safety standards
  • ability to multi-task, take direction, and be a team player
  • ability to work with composure under pressure
  • possess problem solving skills, organizational skills, and self-motivation
  • ability to speak, read, and understand basic cooking recipes and adhere to directions
  • an effective leader who can effectively control time management

Job Duties

  • work directly with the executive chef/sous chef to produce diversified meals for guests based off fresh ingredients
  • organize your workload in the kitchen so that kitchen processes run efficiently
  • produce high-quality dishes that follow established menu choices
  • adhere to all guests dietary requests
  • maintain order and discipline in the kitchen during work hours
  • ensure hygiene and food safety standards are a top priority throughout food preparation
  • ensure all meals are prepared as quickly and deliciously as possible
  • enforce food and safety standards
  • communicate effectively with coworkers during meal services
