Job Requirements
- Must have at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
- culinary training preferred
- ServSafe training certification preferred or required prior to line work
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift items up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
- good communication skills
- ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- flexible schedule including holidays and weekends
- able to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- able to manage stress and handle difficult situations professionally
Job Qualifications
- At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
- culinary training preferred
- experience with dishwashing, prep/cooking, and expediting
- ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to complete training
- proficiency in kitchen operations and execution
- working knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight, and volume
- ability to follow instructions on safe use of cleaning materials
- effective teamwork with supervisors and co-workers with minimal supervision
- strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
- ability to stand for extended periods
- good communication skills
- ability to manage difficult and stressful situations positively
- bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
- flexibility to work holidays and weekends
Job Duties
- Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through point of sale system
- ensure items are made only as ordered and adhere to integrity standards
- accommodate special guest requests with management approval
- prepare dishes according to standardized recipes to maintain quality and consistency
- work cooperatively with kitchen staff to ensure simultaneous, high-quality food delivery
- remake items when instructed by supervisors or managers
- adhere strictly to food handlers safety guidelines including proper temperature control, labeling, and sanitation
- maintain cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work areas during and after shifts
- keep kitchen stocked with dry products and prep materials and restock consistently
- use FIFO system to maintain food freshness and eliminate waste
- maintain accurate waste logs for discarded items
- keep supervisor and kitchen manager informed of inventory levels
- maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers
- work safely using protective equipment and follow safety protocols
- lock and secure food and equipment
- follow opening, mid, and closing procedures
- attend and participate in trainings and meetings
- perform other duties as assigned
