Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • Ability to read, speak, and interpret documents in clear English
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Job Duties

  • Manage and run production lines
  • Ensure spec guidelines are followed, log and report any discrepancies
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure packing specifications are met
  • Set up all stations by 11 am at the latest
  • Consolidate and clean walk-in at the end of shift
  • Keep store rooms organized
  • Ensure afternoon menu is correct and on time
  • Set and serve family meals on time
  • Assist fellow cooks as needed
  • Develop daily specials
  • Record and rotate product, packaging, and order information
  • Actively cook, prep, and assemble where needed
  • Prepare a variety of foods using kitchen equipment
  • Take full responsibility for quality of products served
  • Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies
  • Stock and maintain sufficient food product levels
  • Portion food prior to cooking according to recipes
  • Maintain clean and sanitary workstation
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup
  • Handle, store, and rotate products properly
  • Assist in food prep during off-peak periods
  • Close kitchen properly and follow closing checklist
  • Attend employee meetings and suggest improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
