Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED required
- minimum of six to twelve months industry experience as a line cook in a restaurant setting
- ability to read and interpret simple instructions and documents
- ability to perform arithmetic operations in all units of measure
- knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- ability to keep records for food estimation and production tracking
- general understanding of professional cooking and knife skills
- food handler's certification required

Job Duties
- Follows menus and recipes to produce high-quality culinary dishes
- responsible for preparing entrees, soups, side dishes, and baked goods according to safety and health regulations
- observes and tastes prepared dishes to ensure proper cooking
- arranges, garnishes, and plates food for service
- attends production meetings focused on preparation instructions and kitchen equipment
- maintains a clean and sanitized work environment
- monitors buffet foods for temperature and presentation quality
- assists kitchen staff with stocking and storing food delivered
- properly labels and dates leftover foods
- adheres to all health department standards
- performs other duties as assigned
