Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior cooking experience preferred
  • ability to work scheduled hours including rotating weekends
  • must successfully complete a background screening prior to employment
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform physical kitchen tasks
  • strong attention to detail and reliability

Job Qualifications

  • proven cooking experience preferably in healthcare skilled nursing or senior living settings
  • excellent knowledge of various cooking methods ingredients equipment and procedures
  • ability to work rotating weekends
  • good teamwork and communication skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • culinary certification is a plus

Job Duties

  • prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables butchering meat or preparing sauces
  • cook menu items in cooperation with the kitchen staff
  • ensure food is served simultaneously and in high quality
  • maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
  • assist with inventory management and stocking
  • follow established recipes and portion controls
  • collaborate with team members to maintain smooth kitchen operations
